Starting today, February 15, BOTA’s Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is accepting applications for 2010-2011 educational grants. The application period is seven weeks long, with the deadline being 9 April 2010. More than 100 scholarships will be awarded, which are renewable for up to four years. Winners will be announced in August.
BOTA’s Tuition Assistance Program helps youth with strong academic performance, but lacking in financial means, to obtain a higher education degree at any college or university of the student’s choice within Kazakhstan. In 2009, the BOTA Foundation awarded 87 TAP scholarships to applicants meeting the financial and academic criteria of the program. In addition to funding tuition for study at a college or university, the TAP program provides stipends for housing, daily expenses and transportation. Scholarship recipients also benefit from professional development seminars throughout the year to support their educational success.
Eligible candidates are graduates of the 11th grade or current 11th-grade students, planning to enroll in a college or university for the first time, or college graduates or students in their final year of study at a college, planning to enroll in a university for the first time. Students who have already started university are not eligible to apply.
The TAP recruitment process is an open competition in which all eligible applicants from anywhere in Kazakhstan may apply; however, TAP scholarships will be awarded to those academically qualified students whose families demonstrate the most critical financial need based upon indicators of family income, consumption and family composition. An independent selection committee helps TAP make final selection of candidates.
Applications are available on the BOTA website (www.bota.kz), or
upon request by calling 8 800 080 58 80 or +7 (727) 264-34-87
